Stitch patterns - Garter stitch: knit all rows. Lace pattern: follow the chart and instructions. Gauge 23 sts and 32 rows in lace pattern = 10 cm / 4 in
Using Off White cast on 3 sts and knit 1 row (WS). Row 1 (RS): *kfb (knit front and back)*, repeat *-* once, k1 = 5 sts. Row 2 (WS): knit all sts. Row 3: kfb, k2, kfb, k1 = 7 sts. Row 4: k3, p1, k3. Row 5: k3, yarn over, k1, yarn over, k3 = 9 sts. Row 6: k3, p3, k3. Row 7: k3, yarn over, k3, yarn over, k3 = 11 sts. Row 8: k3, p5, k3. Begin the lace pattern on row 1 of chart I: k3, work the lace pattern (= 5+1 sts), k3 = 12 sts. Keep working 3 sts at both ends in garter st. In the middle section work rows 2-64 of chart I. 2 sts increased on rows 15, 31, 47 and 63; 1 st increased on other RS rows. 47 sts on the needles. Keep working 3 sts at both ends in garter st. In the middle section work rows 1-32 of chart II 8 times in total. Work the 18 st pattern repeat once the first time, twice the second time, etc. Then switch to Sandy Beach and work rows 1-32 of chart II twice more. 227 sts on the needles.
