Säde Granny Square Scarf
The trendiest outfit of the summer is made from crocheted squares!
You can make this scarf using traditional granny squares, flat flower motifs, raised flower motifs – or by combining different types of squares together! See detailed instructions for the squares here.

Novita Sointu Colors of your choice. Total demand approx. 80–110 g, depending on the granny squares used. The simple granny square is the lightest, the raised flower granny square is the heaviest.

Gauge Granny square (whole piece) approx. 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4”
Note If you use different granny square designs in one project, you may need to use different hook size for different squares to ensure the pieces are the same size. Please note that yarn consumption varies depending on the yarn used and the granny square design chosen.
Granny squares
For the scarf, you can use any of the three granny squares: simple, flat flower of raised flower. Make 6 whole squares and 4 triangles according to the pattern of your choice.
Assembly and ties
Assemble the pieces according to the layout diagram. Sew the seams through the back loop using whipstitch.
Optional: You can finish the shorter sides of the scarf with 2 single crochet rows (work 1 sc in each st/chain-1 space). At each seam, you can work a hdc to keep the edge even.
Ties:
Row 1: Ch60. Continue along the long edge of scarf: work 3 sc in each row (work the sts around the posts of the edge dc sts). Finish the row with ch63. Turn work.
Row 2: Work 1 dc in 4th ch countng from the hook, 1 dc in each ch of first tie, 1 dc in each sc, 1 dc in each ch of second tie. Turn work.
Row 3: Work 1 sl st in each st.
Cut yarn and fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Pin the scarf to measurements on a flat surface, wrong side up. Spray with water and let dry.
