7 Sisters – strong bonds, soft touch
The most anticipated new release of the autumn is Novita 7 Sisters, a yarn for that is developed in collaboration with knitters and produced at Novita’s own spinnery in Kouvola, Finland.
Finland’s most loved and iconic yarn, Novita 7 Veljestä, was originally developed in the 1970s as a durable sock yarn designed to withstand life in rubber boots. Over the decades, however, it became a favorite not only for socks but also for a wide range of accessories and garments. Generations of knitters have used 7 Veljestä to create everything from hats and scarves to sweaters.
In recent years, knitters have been wishing for a natural-fibre companion to 7 Veljestä: a yarn suitable for garments, compatible with familiar patterns, and soft enough to be worn comfortably next to the skin.
The new Novita 7 Sisters answers that wish. Its development involved thousands of knitters across Finland. Throughout the nearly year-long project, opinions on colours, materials and knitting patterns were gathered through surveys, while a dedicated test group of ten knitters played an active role in refining the yarn.
The result is a garment yarn co-created with knitters, combining the trusted reliability of 7 Veljestä with the luxurious softness of merino wool. Novita 7 Sisters contains 75% wool and 25% merino and can be used for all 7 Veljestä knitting patterns except socks. The collection includes 15 carefully curated shades that work beautifully on their own or together in colourwork and striped projects.

Soft and strong connection
The yarn, containing soft merino wool, can even be worn comfortably against bare skin by those with sensitive skin. It is suitable for all knitting patterns designed for Novita 7 Veljestä yarn.

Novita 7 Sisters
Novita 7 Sisters is a luxuriously soft yarn designed especially for knitted garments and accessories. Made exclusively from high-quality natural materials, its pleasant feel makes knitting a true pleasure. The resulting fabric is airy yet full, with an exceptionally even texture where stitches stand out clearly.
The yarn consists of 75% wool and 25% soft merino wool. The wool is sourced from Argentina, where natural light conditions produce bright, light-colored fleece, eliminating the need for bleaching. Of the wool, 75% comes from the Río Gallegos region and the merino wool from the Chubut province.
7 Sisters is suitable as is for all garment and accessory patterns designed for 7 Veljestä yarn, except for socks. Machine washable at 40°C. The yarn is made in Finland.
