Garter stitch: knit every row.

Garter st in round: *Rnd1: knit all sts. Rnd2: purl all sts,rep from*

Reversed stocking stitch: purl on RS, knit on WS.

NOTE: Chart shows only RS rows. Work on WS: knit knitted sts, purl purled sts and yrns. Work rows 1-28. Rep rows 21-28.

Tension

20 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm measured over lace patt

18 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm measured over reversed stocking stitch

Back

Cast on 98[106:112:120] sts. Work in rib 3 rows. Beg and ending rows as indicated, cont in patt from chart as folls:

Row 1: Work 10[14:17:21] sts in reversed stocking st, repeat 20 st patt 4 times, work 8[12:15:19] sts in reversed stocking st. Work as indicated until back meas about 36 cm. Dec 1 st at each end. Work until back meas 58[59:60:61] cm.

Shape Armholes

Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows =82[90:96:104] sts. Work until armhole meas about 19[20:21:22] cm. End with row 28 in chart.

Shape Shoulders and Back Neck

Put 34[34:36:36] sts in the middle of back for neck on a holder. Work each side of neck separately. Cast off 1 st at neck edge every alt row twice. Work until armhole meas 21[22:23:24] cm. Cast off rem 22[26:28:32] sts. Rejoin yarn to sts on holder =left end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

Front

Work as back. Start front neck shaping when armhole meas about 7[8:9:10] cm. End with row 28 of chart.

Shape Front Neck

Put 28[28:30:30] sts in the middle of front for neck on a holder. Work each side of neck separately. Cast off 2 sts at neck edge once. Work 1 row. Dec 1 st at neck edge every alt row 3 times. Work until armhole meas 21[22:23:24] cm. Cast off rem sts. Rejoin yarn to sts on holder =left end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

Sleeves

Cast on 48[48:52:52] sts. Work in rib 3 rows. Beg and ending rows as indicated, cont in patt from chart as folls:

Row 1: Work 5[5:7:7] sts in reversed stocking st, repeat 20 st patt 2 times, work 3[3:5:5] sts in reversed stocking st. Work as indicated until sleeve meas 7[8:8:10] cm. Inc 1 st at each end. Repeat increases in 3,5[3:3:2,5] cm intervals until you have 70[74:78:82] sts. Work increased sts in reversed stocking st. Work until sleeve meas 46[47:47:48] cm.

Shape top

Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row 3 times. Cast off rem 58[62:66:70] sts.

Making Up

Flatten the pieces to the desired dimensions on an even surface, wrong side up. Wet with water spray, and allow to dry. Join both shoulder seams.

Collar

Using 40cm circular needle rejoin yarn to 28[28:30:30] sts on a holder from front, pick up and knit 32[32:32:32] sts from neck edge, knit 34[34:36:36] sts on a holder from back, pick up and knit 32[32:32:32] sts from neck edge =126[126:130:130] sts. Work in garter st in round 4 cm. Cast off sts tightly.

Join side seams and sleeve seams using back stitch or matress stitch if preferred. Set in sleeves.
