Stitch patterns Ribbing in the round: *k2, p2*, repeat *-*. Stockinette stitch in the round: knit all rows. Garter stitch in the round: *purl 1 round, knit 1 round*
Leg
Cast on 32(36) sts and divide them onto four needles, 8(9) sts each. The beginning of round is between needles I and IV.
Work ribbing in the round for 9 cm. Knit 1 round and place a marker on the 16th(18th) stitch (= middle stitch).
Instep
Work stockinette st in the round and begin increases: work to middle st, m1R (insert left needle from the back under the strand of yarn between the sts and knit it through the front loop), knit middle st, m1L (insert left needle from the front under the strand of yarn between the sts and knit it through the back loop), work to end. Repeat the increases as established on every row 8(10) more times = 50(58) sts. Work 5 rounds in stockinette st.
Knit next round and at the same time knit together every 5th and 6th (6th and 7th) st. 8 sts decreased, 42(50) sts on the needles.
Purl next round and at the same time purl together every 6th and 7th (7th and 8th) st. 6 sts decreased, 36(44) sts on the needles. Purl 1 round.
Sole
Knit first 2 sts. Divide the sts as follows: next 13(15) sts (side) on needle II, 5(7) sts (toe) on needle III, 13(15) sts (side) on needle IV, 5(7) sts (heel) on needle I.
Next round: knit needle II; on needle III, knit to last st, knit together the last st and the first st on needle IV. Turn work.
*Knit 4(6) sts on needle III, k2tog. Turn work.* Keep repeating *-* until you have decreased all side sts, with the 5(7) sts on needle I and 5(7) sts on needle III remaining. Graft the sts together.
Knit the other bootie in the same manner.
Finishing
Steam and shape. Fold the cuff.
