Novita Huviretki: Nesna shawl
Like almost all the patterns in this collection, the Nesna triangle shawl is a perfect project even for a beginner. It’s knitted flat in garter stitch, and it’s a stylish choice whether you wear it around your neck or around your head. The soft shawl is knitted using Moomin x Novita Huviretki yarn.

Stitch pattern Garter stitch: knit all rows.
Gauge 18 sts in garter st = 10 cm / 4 in
Cast on 3 sts and work garter st:
Row 1: k3, turn work.
Row 2: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, k1, yarn over, k1 = 4 sts. Turn work.
Row 3: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, knit the yo through the back loop, k1, yo, k1 = 5 sts. Turn work.
Row 4: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, knit the yo through the back loop, k2, yo, k1 = 6 sts. Turn work.
Row 5: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, knit the yo through the back loop, knit to last st, yo, k1. Turn work.
1 st increased on each row.
Keep repeating row 5 until the centre measures 45 cm or desired length.
Bind off: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, knit the yo through the back loop, pass the right-hand st over the left-hand one, *k1, pass the right-hand st over the left-hand one*, keep repeating *–* until 1 st remains. Break yarn and pull it through the st. Weave in ends.
