Stitch patterns:
- Stockinette stitch:
Right side rows: knit all sts.
Wrong side rows: purl all sts.
- Colourwork pattern:
work in stockinette st following the chart and the written instructions.
Gauge:
14 sts in stockinette st = 10 cm
Using the off-white yarn, cast on 169 sts and work in stockinette st.
When you have worked 12 rows, begin the colourwork flower pattern with the graphite yarn from row 1 of chart. Work 3 sts in stockinette st with the off-white yarn, work the 18 st pattern repeat 9 times, work 1 st from the left end of chart, 3 sts in stockinette st with the off-white. Work rows 1-66 of chart. Note: you should wrap the contrasting colour and the main colour together every now and then to avoid long floats on the wrong side of the work.
Work stockinette st with the off-white yarn for approx. 76 cm. Then work the flower pattern in a mirrored version: rows 66-1. Work 12 rows in stockinette st with the off-white yarn. Bind off loosely.
Finishing
Weave in the yarn ends. If you prefer, you can add a fabric backing to the finished blanket.
