Stitch patterns Garter stitch: knit all rows. Textured pattern: follow the chart and instructions.
Gauge 9 sts in garter st = 10 cm / 4 in
Cast on 100 sts and begin the cable pattern on row 1 of chart I: (WS) work the 7 sts at the left end, repeat 8 st pattern 11 times, work the 5 sts at the right end. Work rows 2–10, then work garter st with all sts.
When the piece measures approx. 133 cm, begin the cable pattern on row 1 of chart II: (RS) work the 5 sts at the right end, repeat 8 st pattern 11 times, work the 7 sts at the left end. Work rows 2–9 of the chart, then loosely bind off (at the cables, bind off the 2 sts in purl; bind off other sts in knit).
Finishing
Pin to measurements, mist or steam, and allow to dry.
Make 13 tassels for both ends of the blanket. For each tassel, cut 4 approx. 42 cm long pieces of yarn. Fold the bundle of yarn and pull the folded end through the edge of the blanket at the 2 cable sts. Pull the open end through the loop of the folded end and tighten. Attach the other tassels in the same manner.
