Granny squares
Work a total of 84 solid-color simple granny squares using color saniainen.
Next work flat flower granny squares in the following color combinations:
Piece A (15 pcs): Work rnds 1–2 with lavender, rnd 3 with raspberry and rnds 4–5 with fern.
Piece B (14 pcs): Work rnds 1–2 with papaya, rnd 3 with lavender and rnds 4–5 with fern.
Piece C (14 pcs): Work rnds 1–2 with white, rnd 3 with lingonberry and rnds 4–5 with fern.
Piece D (14 pcs): Work rnds 1–2 with raspberry, rnd 3 with papaya and rnds 4–5 with fern.
Piece E (14 pcs): Work rnds 1–2 with lingonberry, rnd 3 with raspberry and rnds 4–5 with fern.
Piece F (14 pcs): Work rnds 1–2 with papaya, rnd 3 with white and rnds 4–5 with fern.
You should have a total of 85 flat flower granny squares.
Assembly and finishing
Lightly steam the pieces.
Assemble the pieces according to the layout diagram. The empty squares denote simple qranny squares. Sew the seams through the back loop using whipstitch.
Edging: Join yarn with sl st to one of the corners of the blanket.
Round 1: Work 20 sc along the side of each square, 1 htr at each seam between squares and 3 sc in one st in each corner. Join with sl st in first st.
Round 2: Ch3 (= 1st dc of round), work 1 dc in each st except 4 dc in one st in each corner. Join with sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.
Round 2: Work 1 sl st in each st.
Cut yarn and fasten off. Carefully weave in ends.
Lightly steam the blanket.
