Begin working stockinette st as well as ribbing at the edges of the pieces: k1, p3, k30(31)32(32)33(34), p3, k2, p3, k12(12)12(12)14(14), p3, k2, p3, k30(31)32(32)33(34), p3, k2, p3, k12(12)12(12)14(14), p3, k1. There are 38(39)40(40)41(42) sts on the back piece at the beginning of the round, 20(20)20(20)22(22) sts on the sleeves, and 38(39)40(40)41(42) sts on the front piece at the end of the round. The beginning of each piece is in between the 2 knit sts. Place markers between these knit sts and at the midpoint of the sleeves.

When the collar measures 6 cm, begin increases at the marked spots: *work 5 sts, increase 1 st (= knit the strand of yarn between the sts through the back loop), work until 5 sts remain before next marker, increase 1 st, work 10 sts, increase 1 st, work until 1 st remains before sleeve midpoint marker, increase 1 st, k2, increase 1 st, work until 5 sts remain before next marker, increase 1 st, work 5 sts*, repeat *-*. 12 sts increased, 128(130)132(132)138(140) sts on the needles: 40(41)42(42)43(44) sts on the front and back pieces, 24(24)24(24)26(26) sts on the sleeves.

Switch to the longer circular needle when you need to.

Repeat the increases on the front and back pieces 22(29)26(33)30(36) more times on every other round and then 4(1)3(0)2(0) times on every 4th round. At the same time repeat the increases at the edges of the sleeves 2(5)0(1)0(0) more times on every other round, then 14(13)16(16)16(18) times on every 4th round, and 7 times on every 4th round at the sleeve midpoints.

324(350)340(360)358(384) sts on the needles after the increases. 92(101)100(108)107(116) sts on the front and back pieces, 70(74)70(72)72(76) sts on the sleeves.

Leave the sleeve sts on hold.

Hem

Continue working in the round with the front and back pieces: at the beginning of the round cast on 0(0)5(5)10(10) sts for an armhole, work the 92(101)100(108)107(116) back sts, cast on 0(0)10(10)20(20) sts for the other armhole, work the 92(101)100(108)107(116) front sts, and cast on another 0(0)5(5)10(10) sts for the armhole. 184(202)220(236)254(272) sts on the needles.

Work stockinette st in the round. At the sides, begin working ribbing from row 1 of the chart: *work C(C)B(B)A(A)-D [= 4(4)9(9)14(14) sts], work D-E (= 12 sts), work 60(69)68(76)75(84) sts in stockinette st, work F-G (= 12 sts), work G-H(H)I(I)J(J)*, repeat *-* once more. Keep repeating row 1 of the chart at the ribbed sections and work the other sts in stockinette st.

When the hem measures 27(28)29(31)32(33) cm, work rows 2-20 at the ribbed sections and on the last round evenly decrease 2(1)0(3)2(1) st(s) at both stockinette st sections = 180(200)220(230)250(270) sts. Work 6 cm of ribbing in the round with all sts and bind off in pattern.

Sleeves

Move the 70(74)70(72)72(76) sleeve sts on hold onto double-pointed needles and pick up 0(0)10(10)18(18) additional sts from the armhole cast-on = 70(74)80(82)90(94) sts. The beginning of the round is at the midpoint of the picked-up sts.

Work stockinette st in the round and on the first round decrease 0(0)1(0)1(0) st(s) on both sides of the beginning of round = 70(74)78(82)88(94) sts.

When the sleeve measures 3(3)3(3)2(2) cm, decrease 1 st on both sides of the beginning of round. Repeat the decreases every 3,5(3)3(2,5)2,5(2,5) cm 10(11)12(14)15(18) more times = 48(50)52(52)56(56) sts.

When the sleeve measures 41(42)43(44)44(45) cm, on the next round evenly decrease 3(5)2(2)1(1) st(s) = 45(45)50(50)55(55) sts.

Work 6 cm of ribbing in the round and bind off in pattern.

Knit the other sleeve to match.

Finishing

Pin the sweater to measurements and steam lightly.
