Back and Front

Using the longer circular needle and the off-white yarn, cast on 156(168)180(192)204 sts. Work ribbing in the round for 5 cm and then 1 round of stockinette st.

Begin the colourwork pattern from row 1 of the chart. Work the 6 st pattern repeat 26(28)30(32)34 times. Work rows 2-12. Then work stockinette st in the round with the off-white yarn.

When the piece measures 39(40)41(42)44 cm, begin the colourwork pattern from row 13. Work the 6 st pattern repeat 26(28)30(32)34 times. Work rows 14-16 of the chart. Work row 17 as follows: bind off the first 6(6)6(9)9 sts for an armhole, work the 66(72)78(78)84 back sts, bind off 12(12)12(18)18 sts for the other armhole, work the 66(72)78(78)84 front sts, and bind off the last 6(6)6(9)9 sts. Leave the front and back sts on hold.

Sleeves

Using the double-pointed needles and the off-white, cast on 36(36)40(40)40 sts and work ribbing in the round for 5 cm. Work 1 round of stockinette st and at the same time evenly increase 0(0)2(2)2 sts = 36(36)42(42)42 sts.

Begin the colourwork pattern from row 1 of the chart. Work the 6 st pattern repeat 6(6)7(7)7 times. Work rows 2-12. Then work stockinette st in the round with the off-white yarn.

When the piece measures 14(14)15(15)15 cm, increase 1 st at both sides of the beginning of round: work 1 st, increase 1 st (= knit the strand of yarn between the sts through the back loop), and when 1 st remains, increase 1 st, work the last st. Repeat the increases every 3,5(2,5)3,5(2,5)2 cm 8(11)8(11)14 more times = 54(60)60(66)72 sts.

When the piece measures 45(46)47(47)48 cm, begin the colourwork pattern from row 13 of the chart. Work the 6 st pattern repeat 9(10)10(11)12 times. Work rows 14-16. Work row 17 and bind off the first and last 6(6)6(9)9 sts of the round. Leave the other 42(48)48(48)54 sts on hold.

Knit the other sleeve to match.

Yoke

Move the 66(72)78(78)84 back sts, 42(48)48(48)54 sleeve sts, 66(72)78(78)84 front sts, and the 42(48)48(48)54 sts of the other sleeve onto the longer circular needle = 216(240)252(252)276 sts. Continue the colourwork pattern from row 18 of the chart. 6 st pattern repeated 36(40)42(42)46 times.

Work rows 19-36. On row 36, 1 st decreased on every pattern repeat. 180(200)210(210)230 sts on the needles.

Work rows 37-45. On row 45, 1 st decreased on every pattern repeat, 144(160)168(168)184 sts on the needles.

Note: Switch to the shorter circular needle when you need to.

Work rows 46-51. On row 51, 1 st decreased on every pattern repeat, 108(120)126(126)138 sts on the needles.

Keep repeating row 52 of the chart until the yoke measures 18(18)19(20)21 cm. Work 2 rounds of stockinette st with the off-white yarn. On the second round, evenly decrease 16(26)28(28)36 sts = 92(94)98(98)102 sts.

Work ribbing in the round for 3 cm and bind off in pattern.
