Round 11: *3 dc, skip 1 st, 2 dc*, repeat *-* 5 more times = 40 dc. Make another piece in the same manner. Now join the pieces. Align the pieces with the right sides upwards. Insert the hook through the back loops of both stitches and join the pieces using flat slip stitches. Work stitch by stitch until an approx. 15 cm opening remains at the top. Sew a zipper to the opening using sewing thread. Strap Work following the illustrations. Illustration 1: Chain (ch) 2 for a beginning chain. Illustration 2: 1 double crochet (dc) into second ch from hook. Illustration 3: Turn work. 1 €horizontal stitch€ at the edge. Illustration 4: 1 dc into the horizontal stitch. Illustration 5: Turn work. 2 horizontal stitches now at the edge. Illustration 6: *Insert the hook through the two horizontal stitches. 3 sts on hook. Yarn over, pull it through the horizontal sts, 2 sts on hook, yarn over again and pull it through the sts. Turn work.* Repeat *-* until the strap measures approx. 60 cm. Sew 20 cm long metal chains to the ends of the strap. Attach swivel clasps to the ends and then attach the strap to the bag on either side of the zipper. For a belt bag make two shorter, approx. 5 cm long straps following the illustrations. Sew them to the back of the bag, with the bottom end of the strap at the centre and the straps approx. 7 cm from each other. Make an approx. 15 cm long tassel and attach it to the underside or side of the bag with a swivel clasp.
