Stitch patterns Ribbing in the round: *k2, p2*
Right glove
Cast on 44 sts and divide them onto four double-pointed needles, 11 sts each. The beginning of round is between needles I and IV. Work ribbing in the round: *k2, p2*, repeat *–*.
When the cuff measures 7 cm, work stockinette st in the round and on the back of the glove begin the lace pattern on row 1 of the chart: on needles I and II, work the 22 st lace pattern; on needles III and IV, k22. Keep repeating rows 2–32 of the lace pattern. With the other sts, keep working stockinette st.
Note: After 4 rounds, begin the thumb gusset: on needles I and II, work lace pattern; on needle III, k1, m1R (= with the left-hand needle, pick up the strand of yarn between the sts from the back and knit it through the front loop), k3, m1L (= with the left-hand needle, pick up the strand of yarn between the sts from the front and knit it through the back loop), work to end of round. Keep working the lace pattern on needles I and II and stockinette st on needles III and IV. Work 2 rounds even, then repeat the increases, now with 5 sts in between them.
Work the thumb gusset increases on every 3rd round 4 more times (6 times in total). After each time there are 2 sts more between the increases. After the last increases, work 1 round, then work next round to beginning of gusset. Leave the 15 gusset sts on hold. Cast on 3 sts at the gusset, work to end.
Work lace pattern and stockinette st as established until you have completed row 32 of the chart. If needed, work stockinette st with all sts until you reach the base of the little finger.
Little finger: K6 from beginning of needle I (backside), cast on 3 sts between the little finger and the ring finger, k5 from end of needle IV (palm) = 14 sts. Divide the sts onto three needles (5 + 5 + 4 sts) and leave the other sts on hold. Work stockinette st in the round until the fabric almost covers the fingernail. Top decreases: k2tog at the end of each needle until 3 sts remain. Break yarn, pull it through the sts and securely weave in.
Pick up and knit 3 sts from the base of the little finger, knit the 33 sts on hold and divide the sts onto four needles, 9 sts each = 36 sts. Work stockinette st in the round for 3 rounds.
Ring finger: K3 (cast-on at the base), k5 (backside), cast on 3 sts between the ring finger and the middle finger, k5 (palm) = 16 sts. Divide the sts onto three needles (6 + 5 + 5 sts) and leave the other sts on hold. Work stockinette st in the round until the fabric almost covers the fingernail. Work the top decreases as established.
Middle finger: Pick up and knit 3 sts from the base of the ring finger, k5 (backside), cast on 3 sts between the middle finger and the index finger, k5 (palm) = 16 sts. Divide the sts onto three needles (6 + 5 + 5 sts) and leave the other sts on hold. Work stockinette st in the round until the fabric almost covers the fingernail. Work the top decreases as established.
Index finger: Pick up and knit 3 sts from the base of the middle finger, k13 = 16 sts. Divide the sts onto three needles (6 + 5 + 5 sts). Work stockinette st in the round until the fabric almost covers the fingernail. Work the top decreases as established.
Thumb: Pick up and knit 5 sts from the base of the thumb, knit the 15 sts on hold and divide the sts onto three needles (8 + 6 + 6 sts) = 20 sts. Work stockinette st in the round. On the 2nd and 3rd rounds, decrease 1 st at the picked-up sts (k2tog) = 18 sts. When the fabric almost covers the fingernail, work the top decreases as established.
