Novita 7 Veljestä: Viena colourwork cowl
The earthy colours and traditional patterns lend a unique beauty to the matching Viena mittens and cowl, knitted from Novita 7 Veljestä. The cowl is knitted in the round, and the edges are then joined to form a loop.

Stitch patterns Colourwork in the round: work following the chart and instructions.
Gauge 22 sts in colourwork = 10 cm / 4 in
Note The cowl is knitted in the round. At the end, the edges are joined to form a loop.
Using scrap yarn, cast on 80 sts and divide them onto four needles, 20 sts each. Join for working in the round. Join Peat and knit 1 round. Begin the colourwork pattern on row 2 of the chart. Repeat the 16 st pattern 5 times. Work rows 3–26, then keep repeating rows 1–26.
When the piece measures approx. 160–170 cm and you have last worked row 25, break the yarn, leaving a long tail of approx. 1½ metres.
Unravel the scrap yarn from the cast-on and stitch the edges together using the 1½ m long yarn.
Finishing
Lightly steam the cowl.
