Back

Using Aqua cast on 102(110)120(128)136 sts. Work ribbing for 8 cm and finish on a WS row.

Switch to Off White and work 3 rows in stockinette st. On the first row increase 1 st at the right end = 103(111)121(129)137 sts.

Switch to Saffron and purl 1 row (WS).

Begin the textured pattern on row 1 of chart I: work 1 st at right, then keep repeating the 2 st pattern to end of row. Work rows 2-4 of the chart, then keep repeating rows 1-4.

When the piece measures 35(36)37(39)40 cm, finish on row 2 (WS) and begin the colourwork pattern on row 1 of chart II. The midpoint of the piece is marked with an arrow, use that to determine the starting point. Bind off the first 1x3(3)5(5)7 sts for the armhole. Work row 2 of the chart (WS), binding off the first 1x3(3)5(5)7 sts for the other armhole. Work rows 3-34. On every other row bind off 3(4)4(5)5x2 sts at both ends = 85(89)95(99)103 sts.

Resume the textured pattern on row 1 of chart I. Work rows 2-4 of the chart, then keep repeating rows 1-4.

When the armhole measures 21(22)23(23)24 cm, leave the middle 27(27)27(29)29 sts on hold for the neckline. Work one shoulder at a time.

On every other row bind off 1x3 sts, 1x2 sts and 2x1 st at the neckline edge; at the same time on every other row bind off 3x4 sts and 2x5 sts (1x4 sts and 4x5 sts) 3x5 sts and 2x6 sts (2x5 sts and 3x6 sts) 5x6 sts at the armhole edge.

Knit the other side in the same manner.

Front

Work like back until the armhole measures 13(14)15(15)16 cm. Leave the middle 15(15)15(17)17 sts on hold for the neckline. Work one shoulder at a time.

On every other row bind off 1x3 sts, 3x2 sts and 4x1 st at the neckline edge.

When the armhole measures 21(22)23(23)24 cm, on every other row bind off 3x4 sts and 2x5 sts (1x4 sts and 4x5 sts) 3x5 sts and 2x6 sts (2x5 sts and 3x6 sts) 5x6 sts at the armhole edge.

Knit the other side in the same manner.

Sleeves

Using Aqua cast on 40(42)44(44)46 sts. Work ribbing for 8 cm and finish on a WS row.

Switch to Off White and work 3 rows in stockinette st. On the first row increase 1 st at the right end = 41(43)45(45)47 sts.

Switch to Saffron and purl 1 row (WS).

Begin the textured pattern on row 1 of chart I: work 1 st at right, then keep repeating the 2 st pattern to end of row. Work rows 2-4 of the chart, then keep repeating rows 1-4.

Note: When the piece measures 9 cm, increase 1 st at both ends. Repeat the increases every 2 cm 17 more times and then 0(1)2(4)5 time(s) every 1 cm = 77(81)85(89)93 sts.

When the piece measures 45(46)47(48)49 cm, finish on row 2 (WS) and begin the colourwork pattern on row 1 of chart II. The midpoint of the piece is marked with an arrow, use that to determine the starting point. Bind off the first 1x4(4)5(6)7 sts for the armhole. Work row 2 of the chart (WS), binding off the first 1x4(4)5(6)7 sts for the other armhole. Work rows 3-34. At the same time bind off at both ends: 1x3 sts, 1x2 sts, and 3(4)5(5)6x1 st on every other row; 3(3)4(4)5x1 st on every 4th row; and 9(9)8(8)8x1 st, 1x2 sts, 1x3 sts and 1x4 sts on every other row.

Note: After row 34 continue on row 1 of chart I.

Bind off the remaining sts and knit the other sleeve in the same manner.

Finishing

Pin to measurements wrong side up, steam lightly and allow to dry.
