Stitch patterns:
- Ribbing in the round:
*k2, p2*
Using the smaller circular needle, cast on 84 sts and begin working ribbing in the round with k2. Work 13 cm in ribbing.
Switch to the larger circular needle and begin the cable pattern from row 1 of chart. Work the pattern repeat (12 sts + 1 st) 7 times = 91 sts. Then work rows 2-11 of the chart a total of 4 times.
Switch to the double-pointed needles and work rows 12-23 of chart. 1 st decreased on every pattern repeat on rows 14, 16 and 21, and 2 sts on rows 18, 20, 22 and 23. Break the yarn and pull it tightly through the remaining 14 sts. Securely weave in the yarn ends on the wrong side.
Finishing
Steam the hat lightly. Fold the rim once.
