Start-up Chain
Ch324. Break yarn leaving a long end. Pull end through last st and tighten it.
Scarf
Pick up and knit 7 sts from beg of chain (see chart). Turn. Beg and ending rows as indicated, cont in patt from chart as folls:
(WS): Row 2: P6, K1. Turn.
Row 3: K1, M1 =make one stitch by picking up horizontal loop before next stitch and knitting into back of it, K6, pick up 2 sts from ch. Turn. Work rows 4-61. Starting at row 39 3 sts will be decreased at right end in each 4 rows and 3 sts increased at left end in each 4 rows. After 6 sts of cable have been casted off at right end, 6 sts are to be picked up at left end for next cable at beg of next row. Work until you have 6 cables. Work rows 62-120.
Next row: Cast off rem 8 sts making a cable twist.
To Make Up
Flatten the scarf to the desired dimensions on an even surface, steam the garter st part heavily.
