Stitch patterns:
- Ribbing:
*k1, p1*, repeat *-*. On the WS rows knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts.
- Two-colour brioche stitch:
work following the instructions.
Gauge:
16 sts of brioche
Using the Heather yarn, cast on 41 sts and work 2 rows of ribbing. On the next WS row, work as follows: k1, *slip 1 purlwise and yo, k1*, repeat *-* to end of row.
Then work two-coloured brioche as follows:
Row 1: (RS) k1 with the Heather yarn = edge stitch. *Knit together the yo and the slipped st, slip 1 purlwise and yo*, repeat *-*. At the end of row, knit together the yo and slipped st. K1 = edge st.
Row 2:(RS) move the sts back to the other end of the circular needle and switch to the Rock yarn. Slip the edge st purlwise. *Slip 1 purlwise and yo, purl together the yo and slipped st*, repeat *-*. At the end of row, slip 1 and yo. Slip the edge st.
Row 3:(WS) purl the edge st using the Heather yarn. *Purl together the yo and slipped st, slip 1 purlwise and yo*, repeat *-*. At the end of row, purl together the yo and slipped st. Purl the edge st.
Row 4: (WS) move the sts back to the other end of the circular needle and switch to the Rock yarn. Slip the edge st purlwise. *Slip 1 yo, knit together the yo and slipped st*, repeat *-*. At the end of row, slip 1 yo. Slip the edge st.
Keep repeating rows 1-4 until the scarf measures approx. 190 cm and you have last worked row 4.
Using the Heather yarn, work as follows: k1 (= edge st), *knit together the yo and slipped st, p1*, repeat *-*. At the end of row, knit together the yo and slipped st. Knit the edge st.
Work 3 rows of ribbing and bind off in pattern.
Finishing
Lightly steam the scarf.
