Crochet pattern
Work following the charts and instructions.
Gauge
3 pattern repeats (18 sts) approx. 8 cm / 3¼ in; height of 1 pattern repeat (2 rows) approx. 1,5 cm / ½ in
Back
Chain 99(111)123(135) for the beginning chain. Work 1 double crochet (dc) into 2nd chain (ch) from hook and 1 dc into each st on the beginning chain = 98(110)122(134) dc.
Begin chart I on row 1: ch3 (= 1st tr), 1 tr, ch4, skip 4 sts, 2 tr, *ch4, skip 4 sts, 2 tr*, repeat *-* to end of row. 16(18)20(22) pattern repeats in total. Continue on row 2 of the chart. Then work row 3 and keep repeating rows 2-3.
When the piece measures approx. 56(56)59(59) cm and there are 35(35)37(37) pattern repeats or 35(35)37(37) rows of holes in total, leave 2 pattern repeats at both ends unworked for the armholes (see chart II). Continue with the remaining 12(14)16(18) pattern repeats.
When the armhole measures approx. 17(18,5)18,5(20) cm and there are 10(11)11(12) pattern repeats at the armholes, leave the middle 6 pattern repeats unworked for the neckline (see chart III). Work one side at a time. Crochet 3 more rows at the shoulder and break the yarn.
Work the other side to match.
Neckline edge: Work 3 rows of dc to the back neckline. On every row decrease 1 st at the corners by crocheting 2 dc together.
Left front
Ch54(60)66(72) for the beginning chain. Work 1 dc into 2nd ch from hook and 1 dc into each st on the beginning chain = 53(59)65(71) dc.
Begin chart I on row 1: ch3 (= 1st tr), 1 tr, ch4, skip 4 sts, 2 tr, *ch4, skip 4 sts, 2 tr*, repeat *-* 6(7)8(9) more times, 3 tr. 8(9)10(11) pattern repeats in total, 5 tr on the buttonband at the left edge. Continue on row 2 of the chart. Then work row 3 and keep repeating rows 2-3.
When the piece measures approx. 46(46)49(49) cm and there are 30(30)32(32) pattern repeats or 30(30)32(32) rows of holes in total, begin neckline decreases at the right end. Work following chart IV. 1 pattern repeat decreased per 12 rows. Decrease a total of 3 pattern repeats.
Note: When the piece measures approx. 56(56)59(59) cm and there are 35(35)37(37) pattern repeats or 35(35)37(37) rows of holes in total, leave 2 pattern repeats at the right end unworked for the armhole (see chart II). Continue until the armhole matches the back piece armhole. Finish on row 3. Do not break the yarn.
Crochet the shoulder seam. Work dc into the trebles to join the pieces, ch4 in between the trebles.
Place markers for buttons to the front edge. The topmost button will be at the starting point of the neckline decreases, with the rest below it at approx. 8 cm intervals.
Right front
Mirror the left front. Work buttonholes at the spots you marked: ch3 (= 1st tr), 2 tr, ch1, skip 1 st, 1 tr.
Crochet the shoulder seam as established.
Sleeves
Work into the RS of the vertical section of the armhole (marked in red on the pattern): 74(80)80(86) dc (2 dc around each tr, 1 dc into each dc + 2 dc).
Continue on row 1 of chart I. 12(13)13(14) pattern repeats in total. Now work row 3, then keep repeating rows 2-3.
After 3 pattern repeats (rows of holes), you can switch to working in the round.
When the sleeve measures approx. 15 cm, begin decreases at both ends. Decrease 6x1 st on every 4th row (see chart V). 10(11)11(12) pattern repeats in total after the decreases.
Continue with the remaining pattern repeats until the sleeve measures approx. 44(45)46(47) cm. Work 1 round of dc to the cuff, making it smaller at the same time if you wish. Break the yarn.
Crochet the other sleeve to match.
Finishing
Pin to measurements, mist on the wrong side and allow to dry.
Sew the short sleeve seams following the blue markings on the pattern.
Crochet the sleeve seams and side seams. Attach the buttons.
