Shape Armholes

Cast off 4[4:4:5:5:6] sts at beg of next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 0[0:2:2:2:2] rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2[4:2:4:6:6] rows. Dec 1 st at each end of foll alt rows 2(2)3(2)2(3) times = 67[71:75:79:83:87] sts. Work until armhole meas 17,5[18,5:19,5:20,5:20,5:21,5] cm.

Shape Shoulders and Back Neck

Work 39[39:39:41:41:41] sts in the middle of back in garter st and cont in pattern st over the rest of the sts. Work 1 cm. Cast off 27[27:27:29:29:29] sts in the middle of back for neck and work in patt to end (work 6sts at neck edge in garter st). Leave right side sts on a holder. Work each side of neck separately. Work until armhole meas 19[20:21:22:22:23] cm. Cast off rem 20[22:24:25:27:29] sts. Rejoin yarn to sts on holder and patt to end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

Left Front

Cast on 51[51:59:59:67:67] sts.

WS: work 6 sts in garter st, work rest of the sts in rib: P1, * K3, P1, rep from * to end.

RS: *K1,P3, rep from*, K1, work 6 sts in garter st. These 2 rows form the rib. Cont in rib until front meas 5 cm. Beg and ending rows as indicated, cont in patt from chart as folls:

RS: Row 1: Work 4 sts as indicated in chart (from right end), repeat 8st patt 5(5)6(6)7(7) times, work 1 st from left end in chart, work 6 sts in garter st. Shape left front neck

RS: Work the row until 8 sts remain on left hand needle., K2tog, K6. Repeat front neck dec every alt row 7(0)4(0)4(0) times and every 4th row 12(16)15(17)16(16) times. Work until front meas 52[53:54:55:57:58] cm.

Shape Armholes

RS: Cast off 4[4:4:5:5:6] sts at right end. Work 1 row. Cast off 0[0:3:3:3:3] sts at right end. Work 1 row. Cast off 2 sts at right end every alt row 1(2)1(2)3(3) times . Dec 1 st at right end of foll alt rows 2(2)3(2)2(3) times. Work until armhole meas 19[20:21:22:22:23] cm. Cast off 20[22:24:25:27:29] sts for shoulder.

Mark buttonplacements with stitchmarkers as folls: top button: where front neck shaping starts. Bottom button: 4[5:6:7:8:9] cm above hem. The rest of the buttons evenly in between.

Right Front

Work as left front reversing all shapings. Use €œsl1,K1,psso€ decrease method in front neck decreases. Make buttonholes in intervals as you have marked on the left front:

RS: work 3sts, yrn,work 2 tog(to make a buttonhole), work to end of row.

Sleeves

Cast on 51[51:53:53:55:55] sts.

WS: work in rib: K1[1:2:2:3:3],P1, * K3,P1, rep from *,K1[1:2:2:3:3].

Work in rib until sleeve meas 5 cm. Beg and ending rows as indicated, cont in patt from chart as folls:

RS: Row 1: work 1[1:2:2:3:3] sts in reversed stocking stitch, work 4 sts as indicated in chart (from right end), repeat 8st patt 5 times, work 5 sts from left end in chart, work 1[1:2:2:3:3] sts in reversed stocking stitch. Cont as indicated and repeat rows 1-20 in patt. AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st at both ends every 14th [12th:12th:10th:10th:8th ]row 6(6)2(6)2(12) times and every 12th [10th :10th :8th :8th :6th ]row 2(4)9(7)12(4) times = 67[71:75:79:83:87] sts. Work increased sts in patt. Work until sleeve meas 44[45:46:47:47:48] cm.

Shape top

Cast off 4[4:4:4:5:5] sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2[2:4:4:4:4] rows.

Dec 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row 11(12)13(14)15(16) times. Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off rem sts.

Making Up

Flatten the pieces to the desired dimensions on an even surface, wrong side up. Wet with water spray, and allow to dry. Join both shoulder seams.

Join side seams and sleeve seams using back stitch or matress stitch if preferred. Set in sleeves. Sew on buttons.
