Size 22:
Needle 1 p1, k2, p2, k2, p2, k1
Needle 2 and Needle 3: work Rows 1–4 of Chart A1
Needle 4: k1, p2, k2, p2, k2, p1
Size 26:
Needle 1: p1, k2, p2, k2, p2, k2
Needle 2 and Needle 3: work Rows 1–4 of Chart A2
Needle 4: k2, p2, k2, p2, k2, p1
Size 30:

Needle 2 and Needle 3: work Rows 1–4 of Chart A3
Needle 4: k1, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2, k1
Continue the leg, working the sts on Needle 1 and Needle 4 in rib and the sts on Needle 2 and Needle 3 as per Row 5 of Chart A1(A2)A3, repeating rows 5–10.
After a total of 33 rows (including rib) and ending on chart row 9, work one more row as follows: Work all sts on Needle 1 in rib, all sts on Needle 2 and Needle 3 as per Row 10 of Chart A1(A2)A3, and knit all sts on Needle 4.
Heel
Now start the heel flap by knitting the sts on Needle 1 onto Needle 4 = 20(22)24 sts. Leave the remaining sts for now.
Turn your work, slip the first stitch purlwise (sl1pw) and purl the remaining stitches.
Row 1 (RS): Turn work and *sl1, k1*, repeat *−* to end.
Round 2 (WS): Turn your work, slip the first stitch purlwise (sl1pw) and purl the remaining stitches.
Repeat these two rows until the heel flap measures 20(22)24 rows, ending on a WS row.
Begin heel decreases as follows: Use the same heel stitch as above. Work the RS row until 7(8)9 sts remain. Now slip 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped st over (skp) and turn your work. Slip 1 st, p6, p2tog and turn work. Sl1kw, continue in reinforced stitch until 6(7)8 sts remain, skp and turn your work. Sl1pw, p6, p2tog and turn work.
Continue as above. The decreases are worked from the sides while the number of sts in the midde remains the same (8 sts). When no more side sts remain, divide the heel flap sts evenly between two needles (4 sts on each) and knit the 4 sts on Needle 4 to bring the working yarn to the middle.
Using Needle 1, pick up 12(13)14 sts from the left side of the heel flap. Then use Needle 4 to pick up 12(13)14 sts from the right side. You now have 53(57)61 sts.
Foot
Knit all sts on Needles 1 and 4 and knit the picked up stitches through the back loop (tbl). Work the sts on Needle 2 and Needle 3 according to Chart A1(A2)A3, starting on Row 5 and repeating rows 5–10.
Now work the gusset decreases: k2tog at end of Needle 1 and skp at end of Needle 4.
When 41(45)49 sts remain and you have 10-11-10-10(11-12-11-11)12-13-12-12 sts on your needles, stop the decreases and continue to work the sts on Needle 1 and Needle 4 in stocking stitch and the sts on Needle 2 and Needle 3 as per chart.
Once you have worked a total of 33(37)41 rounds (after the heel) ending on chart row 7(5)9, start your toe decreases.
The toe decreases are worked as wedge decreases using Needle 1 and Needle 4.
Needle 1: knit all sts until 3 sts remain, k2tog and k1.
Needle 4: k1, skp, knit to end.
Work these decreases on every round.
On Needle 2 and Needle 3, work decreases as per Chart B1 (B2) B3 mukaan.
When 9 sts remain, break yarn, thread the tail through the remaining stitches and finish off.
Repeat to make second sock.
Finishing
Weave in any loose ends and steam gently to finish.
