Novita Suomivilla: Lumilinna (Snow Castle) hat
This lovely set of soft accessories for kids is knitted using Novita Suomivilla. The beautiful beanie is knitted as a cable knit.

Stitch patterns Ribbing in the round: *k1, p1* repeat *–*.
Textured stitch: knit according to the chart and instructions.
Gauge 22 stitches and 30 rows in textured stitch with larger needles = 10 cm
Using the smaller needles and scrap yarn provisionally cast on 54 sts and divide them onto four needles.
Join for working in the round and switch to Crevasse.
Round 1: *k1, yarn over*, repeat *-* to end of round = 108 sts.
Round 2: *slip 1 with yarn in back, purl the yo of the previous round*, repeat *-* to end of round.
Round 3: *k1, slip 1 with yarn in front*, repeat *-* to end of round.
Unravel the provisional cast-on.
Work ribbing in the round until the piece measures 14 cm.
Switch to the larger needles and begin the textured pattern on row 1 of chart I. Repeat the 36 st pattern 3 times. Work rows 2-8 of the chart, then work rows 1-8 3 more times.
Work rows 1-14 of chart II. Work the gusset decreases following the chart. 24 sts remaining. Break the yarn and pull it through the sts. Pull tightly to close the hole and securely weave in.
Finishing
Steam the hat lightly.
Fold the brim. Make a pompom approx. 6 cm in diameter and attach it to the top.
