Using a free needle pick up 13(14)15 sts from the left end of the heel flap + 1 st from between the flap and needle III. Knit the picked-up sts through the back loop onto needle II [8(8)9 sts]. Resume the cable pattern on needles III and IV. Using needle I [8(8)9 sts], pick up 13(14)15 sts from the right end of the flap + 1 st from between needle IV and the flap. Knit the picked-up sts through the back loop, k8(8)9. The beginning of round is still at the side of the sock. Work stockinette st on needles I and II and cable pattern on needles III and IV. Begin gusset decreases: at the end of needle II, k2tog; at the beginning of needle I, skp. Repeat the decreases every other round until 52(56)60 sts remain. Redistribute the sts, 13(14)15 sts per needle.Work as established until the sole measures 18(19)21 cm or until the sock covers your fifth toe. Knit 1 round with all sts. Work stockinette st.
