Mittens for the little ones, knitted using soft merino yarn. The Novita Merino DK yarn only includes mulesing-free European wool.

Stitch patterns Ribbing in the round: *k1, p1*
Cast on 28(32)36 sts and divide them onto four double-pointed needles, 7(8)9 sts each. The beginning of round is between needles I and IV. Work ribbing in the round for 9 cm.
Switch to the larger needles and begin textured pattern:
Round 1: knit all sts.
Round 2: *k1, slip 3 with yarn in front*, repeat *-* to end of round.
Round 3: knit all sts.
Round 4: *k1, slip 3 with yarn in front*, repeat *-* to end of round.
Round 5: knit all sts.
Round 6: k2, *k1 with the loops in back of the stitch, k3*, repeat *-* until 2 sts remain, k1 with the loops in back of the stitch, k1.
Round 7: knit to last st, slip 1 with yarn in front.
Round 8: slip 2 with yarn in front, k1, *slip 3 with yarn in front, k1*, repeat *-* until 1 st remains, k1.
Round 9: knit to last st, slip 1 with yarn in front.
Round 10: slip 2 with yarn in front, k1, *slip 3 with yarn in front, k1*, repeat *-* until 1 st remains, k1.
Round 11: knit all sts.
Round 12: *k1 with the loops in back of the stitch, k3*, repeat *-* to end of round.
Repeat rounds 1-12 a total of 2 times. Size 80/86: work rounds 1-6 once more.
Knit 1 round. Then work stockinette st and begin the top decreases: at the beginning of needles I and III, skp (= slip 1 knitwise, k1, pass slipped st over); at the end of needles II and IV, k2tog.
Repeat the decreases on every round until 4 sts remain. Break yarn, pull it through the sts and weave in.
Knit the other mitten in the same manner.
Finishing
Fold the cuff and steam the mittens lightly.
