Stitch patterns Stockinette stitch in the round: knit all rows. Brioche in the round:Round 1: *k1, sl1yo (slip 1 yarn over)*
Using the smaller needles cast on 94 sts and place marker for beginning of round. Work stockinette stitch in the round for 2 cm. On the next round *yarn over, k2tog*, repeat *-* to end of round. Work stockinette st for 2 cm. On the last round evenly increase 6 sts = 100 sts.Switch to the larger needles. With all sts work brioche in the round.When the brioche section measures 12 cm and you have last worked round 3, work round 2 and place 4 markers so that there are 20 sts between each pair of markers.On the next round decrease 10 sts: *work round 3 of brioche pattern until 4 sts remain before next marker, knit 3 sts and their yarn overs together, sl1yo*, repeat *-* 4 more times. 10 sts decreased, 90 sts on the needles.Repeat the decreases every 4th round 7 more times. 20 sts remaining. Break the yarn and pull it through the sts. Tighten and securely weave in. FinishingFold the brim and sew the edge to the inside. Weave in all ends. Steam and shape. Make a pompom, approx. 4 cm in diameter, and attach it to the top.
