Hat

Using 40cm circular needles cast on 96[102:106] sts. Work in rib in round 1 cm. Cont in stocking st in round.

Work until hat meas 8[9:10] cm. Purl 1 rnd =fold. Cont in stocking st in round.

When man's hat meas 13 cm from fold dec evenly 2 sts = 104 sts.

Work until hat meas from fold 11[13:14] cm.

Decreases

Dec rnd 1: * sl1, K1, psso, K10[15:11], rep from * for a total of 8(6)8 times = 88[96:96] sts.

Work 3 rnds.

Dec rnd 2: * sl1, K1, psso, K9[10:10], rep from * for a total of 8 times = 80[88:88] sts.

Work 3 rnds.

Dec rnd 3: * sl1, K1, psso, K8[9:9], rep from * for a total of 8 times = 72[80:80] sts.

Change to double pointed needles when convenient.

Rep dec rnd as before every 3rd rnd once and every alt rnd 4 times.

Rep dec rnd every rnd until 8 sts remain.

Break yarn leaving a long tail. Pull end through all sts and tighten it. Weave in all ends.
