Stitch pattern - Garter stitch: knit all rows. - Textured pattern: follow the chart and instructions. Gauge 18 sts and 34 rows in garter st with yarn held double = 10 cm / 4 in 20 sts and 28 rows in textured pattern with one strand of yarn = 10 cm / 4 in
Base With yarn held double cast on 14 sts and work garter st for 25 cm. Bind off. Sides With one strand of yarn cast on 53 sts and work 3 rows in garter st. Begin the textured pattern on row 1 of the chart: work the 4 sts at the right end, repeat the 6 st pattern 8 times, work the 1 st at left. Work rows 2-8 of the chart, then keep repeating rows 1-8. When the piece measures approx. 25 cm, finish on either row 3 or 7 of the chart. Work garter st and evenly decrease 4 sts on the first row = 49 sts. After 3 cm, bind off. Knit the other piece in the same manner. Ends With one strand of yarn cast on 17 sts and work 3 rows in garter st. Begin the textured pattern on row 1 of the chart: work the 4 sts at the right end, repeat the 6 st pattern 2 times, work the 1 st at left. Work rows 2-8 of the chart, then keep repeating rows 1-8. When the piece is the same height as the side pieces, finish on row 3 or 7. Work garter st for 3 cm and bind off. Knit the other piece in the same manner.
