Stitch patterns
1 ×1 Rib worked in the round:
knit 1, purl 1, repeat from * to *.
Stockinette stitch worked in the round:
knit all rounds.
Colorwork worked in the round:
work stockinette stitch in the round following the chart and instructions. Note: If a float is longer than 3 stitches, twist the yarns around each other at intervals of a few stitches to catch the float. Vary the placement of these twists on different rounds.
Gauge:
30 stitches and 32 rounds in colorwork = 10 cm (4 in).
Using Silver Willow cast on 130(140)150(160) sts and divide them to four needles. The beginning of round is between needles I and IV. Work ribbing in the round for 7(7)8(10) cm, then knit 1 round.

Next round: *K7 in pattern, k1 using Oat*, repeat *-* 12(13)14(15) more times.
13(14)15(16) sts decreased on each decrease round. 1 st less between the decreases after each time. Continue decreasing as established until 26(28)30(32) sts remain.
Continue with Oat. On the next round k2tog to end = 13(14)15(16) sts.
Break yarn, pull it through the sts and securely weave in.
Finishing
Lightly steam the hat. Fold the ribbing and sew the edge to the WS.
