The back
Using the smaller needle and the multi-coloured yarn, cast on 116(124)134(142)150(160) sts and work ribbing for 6 cm. Switch to the larger needle and work in stockinette st.
When the piece measures 28(29)30(30)21(31) cm, decrease 1 st at both ends. Repeat the decreases every 5 cm for 4 more times = 106(114)124(132)140(150) sts.
When the piece measures 63(65)66(67)68(69) cm, cast on at both ends on every 2nd row 2(2)2(2)3(3)x1 st, 5(5)5(5)5(6)x2 sts, 1(1)1(1)2(2)x3 sts, 2x4 sts, 3x6 sts, 3(3)4(4)4(4)x7 sts, 2x10 sts and 1x16(18)13(13)11(13) sts for the sleeves = 302(314)328(336)348(366) sts.
When you have worked for 3(3)3,5(4)4(4,5) cm with all the sts, begin the colourwork pattern on the RS row from row 1 of chart: using one strand of each yarn (multi-colour and graphite), knit the outermost st, then keep repeating the 7 st pattern repeat until 1 st remains, knit the st with the yarn held double. Work rows 2-13 of chart. At both ends, work 1 st in stockinette st with the yarn held double. Make sure to keep the colourwork section loose enough.
Begin the textured pattern on the WS of the work from row 14 of chart: p1, keep repeating the 5 st pattern repeat until 1 st remains, p1. Work rows 15-24 of chart. At both ends, work 1 st in stockinette st.
Note: When the armhole measures 20(20)21(22)23(24) cm from the starting point of the increases, bind off the middle 34(34)36(36)36(36) sts for the neckline. Work one side of the neckline at a time. On every 2nd row, bind off 2x2 sts at the neckline edge.
When you have worked row 24 of chart, work 2 more rows in stockinette st. Bind off the remaining 130(136)142(146)152(161) sts.
Knit the other side of the neckline to match.
The front
Work as you did the back, but when the armhole measures 2 cm from the starting point of the increases, divide the sts into two groups. First work the right side of the neckline (on the side of the left sleeve), decreasing at the neckline edge next to the outermost st 14(14)16(16)16(16)x1 st on every 2nd row and then 7(7)6(6)6(6)x1 st every 4th row. Decreases: k2tog. Work the sleeve increases as you did on the back.
Note: When you have worked 3(3)3,5(4)4(4,5) cm after the sleeve increases, begin the colourwork pattern on the RS from row 1 of chart: with the yarn held double (one strand of each yarn) k1, then keep repeating the 7 st pattern repeat until 1 st remains, k1 with the yarn held double. Work rows 2-13 of chart. At both ends, work 1 st in stockinette st with the yarn held double.
Begin the textured pattern on the WS of the work from row 14 of chart: p1, keep repeating the 5 st pattern repeat until 1 st remains, p1. Work rows 15-24 of chart. At both ends, work 1 st in stockinette st.
Bind off the remaining 130(136)142(146)152(161) sts.
Work the other side in the same manner. Decreases at the neckline: skp (= slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped st over).
Finishing
Lay the pieces to measurements, mist on the wrong side and allow to dry.
Sew the shoulder seams.
Neckline edge: Using the shorter circular needle and the multi-colour yarn, pick up 150(150)156(158)160(162) sts along the neckline edge. Note: Begin at the shoulder seam, pick up the sts from the front neckline, pick up 1 st from the middle of the front, continue picking up from the other side of the neckline and the back neckline. Work ribbing in the round so that you have a knit st at the front midpoint. Then decrease 2 sts at the middle 3 sts in front: work until 1 st remains before the middle st, s2kp (=slip 2 as to knit them together, k1, pass the slipped sts over), work to end. Repeat the decrease on every round. When the ribbing measures 3 cm, bind off in pattern.
Cuffs Using the smaller needle and the multi-coloured yarn, pick up 48(48)50(50)52(52) sts and work ribbing for 6 cm. Bind off in pattern.
Work a matching edge for the other cuff.
Sew the sleeve seams and side seams.
Make tassels for the front neckline. Cut a 25 cm strand of yarn for each tassel. Fold the yarn in two and pull the folded end through the outermost st on the bodice at the very edge of the neckline. Pull the open end of the tassel tightly through the folded end. Attach tassels on both sides of the neckline all the way to the bottom of the colourwork section. Attach tassels at the left edge of the graphite-coloured slanted stripe, on rows 1-5 of the colourwork section. Make tassels for the three slanted stripes on both sides of the neckline.
