Stitch pattern:
- Garter stitch:
Knit all rows.
- Stockinette stitch:
Knit all stitches on right side (RS) rows
The Back
Cast on 82(90)98(106)114(122) sts and work 5 rows in garter stitch. Then begin working in stockinette stitch.
When the piece measures 14(15)15(16)16(17) cm, bind off 1 st on both ends: on a RS row, k2, skp (=slip, knit, pass slipped stitch over), when 4 sts remain k2tog, k2. Repeat the decreases every 5 cm for 3 times more = 74(82)90(98)106(114) sts.
When the piece measures approx. 35(36)37(38)39(40) cm, on the next WS row knit 7(8)8(10)12(12) sts on both ends and purl the rest of the stitches. Knit the RS row and on the next WS row knit 8(9)9(11)13(13) sts on both ends and purl the rest of the stitches.
In the beginning of the next row, bind off for the armhole 1x5(6)6(8)10(10) sts and knit to the end of row.
In the beginning of the WS row, bind off 1x5(6)6(8)10(10) sts for the armhole, k3, purl through the sts until 3 sts remain, k3. On both ends work 3 sts in garter stitch and decrease 1 st on both ends: on a RS row k3, skp, knit until 5 sts remain, k2tog, k3. Repeat the decreases every 2nd row ( = on every RS row) for another 2(3)5(5)5(7) times = 58(62)66(70)74(78) sts.
When the armhole measures 14(15)16(17)17(18) cm, put the center 28(28)30(30)32(32) sts on hold for the neckline for example on a piece of scrap yarn. Leave the left side stitches on hold and work the right side first. Decrease 1 st on the edge of the neckline: knit through the RS row until 3 sts remain before the neckline, k2tog, k1. Repeat the decreases on every 2nd row 2 times more.
When the armhole measures 16(17)18(19)19(20) cm, bind off the remaining 12(14)15(17)18(20) shoulder sts.
Knit the other side of the neckline to match and work the decreases using skp instead of k2tog.
The Front
Knit similarly to the back until the armhole measures 7(8)9(10)10(11) cm. Put the center 20(20)22(22)24(24) sts on hold for the neckline for example on a piece of scrap yarn. Leave the stitches on the left on hold and work the right side first. Decrease 1 st on the neckline edge: knit through the RS row until there are 3 sts before the neckline, k2tog, k1. Repeat the decreases every 2nd row for 4 more times and then on every 4th row 2 times more.
When the armhole measures 16(17)18(19)19(20) cm, bind off the remaining 12(14)15(17)18(20) shoulder sts.
Knit the other side of the neckline to match and work the decreases using skp instead of k2tog.
Finishing
Lay the pieces wrong side up to measurements on a surface, mist with a spray bottle and let dry.
Sew the shoulder seams.
Neckline border: Move the neckline sts from the scrap yarn on to the circular needle and pick up and knit sts from the neckline so that you will have 115(115)117(117)119(119) sts total on the needle. Work in garter st in the round (= alternate between knit and purl rounds) until you have made two purl rows. Bind off securely on the next knit row.
With the right side facing you, crochet slip sts to the vertical edges of the arm openings. Crochet 1 sl st for every row.
Sew the side seams.
