Lower portion of back
Using yarn A cast on 101(107)117(127) sts. Work 1 cm in rib stitch. Next, work 4 rows in st st.
Start following Chart I at row 1 starting in each size at the point indicated by an arrow in the chart. Keep repeating the 6 st pattern repeat. (Note that the stitch count of the pattern repeat may not line up with the total number of stitches.) Then, work rows 2-7.
Continue with yarn A and work in st st. On the 2nd row decrease 1 st = 100(106)116(126) sts.
When the piece measures 13(13)14(14) cm, decrease 1 at each end of the next row. Repeat these decreases every 7 cm for 3 times more = 92(98)108(118) sts.
When the piece measures 54(55)57(58) cm, start following Chart II at row 1 starting in each size at the point indicated by an arrow in the chart. Keep repeating the 12 st pattern repeat. (Note that the stitch count of the pattern repeat may not line up with the total number of stitches.) Then, work rows 2-10. At the same time start shaping the armholes at row 3 in the following way:
Cast off 4(5)5(7) sts at the beginning of next 2 rows, 3 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows, 2 sts at the beginning of next 0(0)2(2) rows and 1 st at the beginning of next 2 rows. Leave 76(80)86(92) sts on hold for a while.
Lower portion of front
Work as the lower portion of back.
Sleeves
Using yarn A cast on 47(49)51(53) sts. Work 1 cm in rib stitch. Next, work 4 rows in st st.
Start following Chart I at row 1. The centre line of the sleeve is indicated by an arrow in the bottom of the chart. Use it as a guideline to count the point where you should start following the chart. Then, work rows 2-7.
Continue with yarn A and work in st st. On the 2nd row increase 1 st = 48(50)52(54) sts.
When the piece measures 14(12)14(12) cm, increase 1 at each end of the next row. Repeat these increases every 4(3.5)3(3) cm for 7(9)10(11) times more = 64(70)74(78) sts.
When the piece measures 45(46)46(47) cm, start following Chart II at row 1. The centre line of the sleeve is indicated by an arrow in the bottom of the chart. Use it as a guideline to count the point where you should start following the chart. Then, work rows 2-10. At the same time start shaping the sleeve top at row 3 in the following way:
Cast off 4(5)5(7) sts at the beginning of next 2 rows, 3 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows, 2 sts at the beginning of next 0(0)2(2) rows and 1 st at the beginning of next 2 rows. Leave 48(52)52(52) sts on hold for a while.
Work another sleeve to match.
Yoke
Take all sts onto one circular needle: 76(80)86(92) sts of the back + 48(52)52(52)6 sts of one sleeve + 76(80)86(92) sts of the front + 48(52)52(52) sts of another sleeve = 248(264)276(288) sts.
With yarn A start working in the round and knit 1(1)2(2) round(s).
Next round: Start following Chart II at row 11 and at the same time decrease 3(5)10(8 sts evenly = 245(259)266(280) sts.
Next, work row 12 and work the 7 st repeat for 35(37)38(40) times. Then, work rows 13-34. You will be decreasing 35(37)38(40) sts on rows 19, 26, and 34 and after completing the decreases you will have 140(148)152(160) sts on the needle.
With yarn A knit 0(1)1(1) row.
Work rows 35-42 and on the last row decrease 18(20)20(22) sts evenly = 122(128)132(138) sts.
Work rows 43-46 and on the last row decrease 17(17)18(21) sts evenly = 105(111)114(117) sts.
Work rows 47-49.
Continue with yarn A and knit 3(3)4(4) rows.
Neck ribbing: Using smaller circular needle start working in rib stitch in the round. On the first round decrease 1(3)6(5) st(s) evenly = 104(108)108(112) sts. Work 2 cm in rib and cast off in pattern.
Finishing
Join side, sleeve and underarm seams. Lay the finished piece to measurements on a flat surface with the WS facing and steam block gently.
