Using black yarn cast on 90[96:106:112:122:130] sts. Beg and ending rows as indicated, cont in patt from chart as folls:

(WS): Row 1: Start working from an arrow marked for your size, rep 16 st pattern 4(5)5(6)6(7) times and work 13[8:13:8:13:9] sts from right end in chart. If needed, work fair isle patt using bigger needles. Cont in patt and repeat rows 2.-3. 6 times. Work rows 4.-31. Cont in stocking st using black yarn. AT THE SAME TIME when back meas 9 cm, dec 1 st at each end as folls:

RS: K1, sl1,K1,psso, work until you have 3 sts left on your left hand needle, K2tog, K1. Repeat decreases at each end in 2,5 cm intervals 3 times = 82[88:98:104:114:122] sts. Work until back meas 36[35:36:37:39:40] cm.

Shape Armholes

Cast off 4[4:5:5:5:6] sts at beg of next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 0[0:0:2:2:2] rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2[4:4:2:4:4] rows. Dec 1 st at each end of foll alt rows 2(2)2(3)3(4) times = 66[68:76:78:84:88] sts. Work until armhole meas 15[16:17:18:18:19] cm.

Shape Shoulders and Back Neck

Cast off 32[32:34:34:34:34] sts in the middle of back for neck and work to end. Leave right side sts on a holder. Work each side of neck separately. Work 2 rows. Cast off 2 sts at neck edge. Work until armhole meas 17[18:19:20:20:21] cm. Cast off rem 15[16:19:20:23:25] sts. Rejoin yarn to sts on holder and work to end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

Front

Shape Front Neck

Put 22[22:24:24:24:24] sts in the middle of front for neck on a holder. Work each side of neck separately. Cast off at neck edge every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once. Dec 1 st at neck edge every alt row twice. Work until armhole meas 17[18:19:20:20:21] cm. Cast off rem 15[16:19:20:23:25] sts. Rejoin yarn to sts on holder (left end) and work to end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

Sleeves

Using black yarn cast on 40[40:42:42:44:46] sts. Work in 2x2 rib 7 cm. Cont in stocking stitch and AT THE SAME TIME inc 2 sts evenly during the first row = 42[42:44:44:46:48] sts.

Work until sleeve meas 12[10:13:8:12:10] cm. Inc 1 st at each end. Repeat increases in 4[3,5:3:3:2,5:2,5] cm intervals 7(9)10(12)13(14) times = 58[62:66:70:74:78] sts.

Work until sleeve meas 44[45:46:47:47:48)] cm.

Shape Top

Cast off 4[4:5:5:6:6] sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row 7(8)9(10)11(12) times. Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off rem sts.

To Make Up

Flatten the pieces to the desired dimensions on an even surface, wrong side up. Wet with water spray, and allow to dry. Join both shoulder seams.

Neckband

Using 40cm circular needle rejoin yarn to 22[22:24:24:24:24] sts from a holder, pick up and knit 82[82:84:84:84:84] sts evenly from neck edge =104[104:108:108:108:108] sts. Work in rib in round 3 cm. Cast off sts in rib.

Join side seams leaving slits on both sides (4 cm for front and 7 cm for back) using back stitch or matress stitch if preferred. Join sleeve seams using back stitch or matress stitch if preferred. Set in sleeves.
