Gauge swatches Twisted rib in the round: *k1 tbl, p1*, repeat *–*. Stocking stitch in the round: knit all rounds.
Knitting tension 22 sts and 28 rows using larger needles = 10 cm [4 inches]
Pattern This top is worked in the round from top down. This gives it a seamless finish.
Part 1
Raglan yoke
Cast on 114(114)114(116)116(116)118(118) sts on a 3 mm [2.5 US] circular needle and join to work in the round. Place stitch marker here for the beginning of the round. Work in rib stitch: *k1, p1*, repeat *–* to end of round. Now work 9 rounds in twisted rib.
Switch to the larger needles. Knit the next round, increasing 10(10)14(16)16(20)22(34) sts evenly across the round = 124(124)128(132)132(136)140(152) sts.
Divide the stitches for the raglan increases (using total of three stitch markers): counting from the beginning of round marker (working towards the left), place a stitch marker on the cable after 46(48)50(54)56(58)60(66) sts for the back section, after another 16(14)14(12)10(10)10(10) sts for the sleeve and after another 46(48)50(54)56(58)60(66) sts for the front section. You now have 16(14)14(12)10(10)10(10) sts remaining for the other sleeve. The beginning of round is between the back section and the left sleeve, where the raglan seam sits.
Continue in stockinette in the round and start to work the sleeve increases on both sides:
Round 1 (inc): Switch the 1st stitch marker to the right-hand needle. Now, k1, m1 (pick up strand between sts and knit tbl). Continue to knit all sts until 1 st remains before the next marker (2nd stitch marker), m1, k1, move marker, k1 and m1. Continue to knit all sts until 1 st remains before the next marker (3rd stitch marker), m1, k1, move marker, k1 and m1. knit all sts until 1 st remains before the next marker (4th stitch marker), m1, k1, move marker, k1 and m1. Knit all sts until 1 st remains before the next marker (beginning of round), m1, k1.
You will have increased by 8 sts and now have a total of 132(132)136(140)140(144)148(160) sts.
Round 2 (no increases): knit all sts. When you reach a marker, slip it from the left needle to the right and continue according to pattern.
Repeat Rows 1–2 a further 24(25)27(28)30(31)33(34) times. You now have a total of 324(332)352(364)380(392)412(432) sts, divided as follows: 96(100)106(112)118(122)128(136) sts on the front and back sections and 66(66)70(70)72(74)78(80) sts on the sleeves.
Important Switch to the longer circular needles as required to accommodate the additional sts.
Part 2
Now divide the sts into three sections and remove the stitch markers: work the 96(100)106(112)118(122)128(136) back section sts, slip the 66(66)70(70)72(74)78(80) sleeve sts onto a length of scrap yarn/a cable, m3(8)11(14)17(21)24(25) in the underarm, work the 96(100)106(112)118(122)128(136) front section sts, slip the 66(66)70(70)72(74)78(80) sleeve sts on to a length of scrap yarn/a cable and m3(8)11(14)17(21)24(25) in the underarm. You will now have a total of 198(216)234(252)270(286)304(322) sts. Place a marker for the beginning of round.
