Novita X Iines DIY: Cotton Cloud Sweater
This easy top-down jumper is an ideal project for beginners as there are no seams to sew up. The jumper is knit with two different types of yarn. Novita Isoveli brings softness and warmth, while the Novita Tuuli mohair adds a sumptuously fluffy feel. If you would like to make your jumper extra fluffy, you can add more mohair. If you do add an extra strand to your knit, remember to check the yardage (total yarn needed). You should also bear in mind that additional strands will affect the gauge.

Yoke
Cast on 54 sts on the shorter 10 mm circular needles. Join to work in the round and knit 1 round of stocking stitch. Now add stitch markers for the raglan lines: knit 10 sts of the sleeve and place the 1st stitch marker on the next st, knit 15 sts of the front piece, place the 2nd stitch marker on the next stitch, knit 10 sts of the sleeve and place the 3rd stitch marker on the next stitch, knit 15 sts of the back piece and place the 4th stitch marker on the next stitch.
Continue to work in stocking stitch and begin the raglan increases: M1L (Make One Left), work to the 1st stitch marker, M1R (Make One Right), knit the marked st, M1L, work to the 2nd marker, M1R, knit the marked st, M1L, work to the 3rd marker, M1R, knit the marked st, M1L, work to the 4th marker, M1R, knit the marked st. You have now added 8 new sts to your work. Repeat the increases on every second round 15(16)17(18)19 more times. Switch to the longer circular needle when you need to. There are now 182(190)198(206)214 sts on the needle.
The sts should now be divided into four sections. Transfer the 42(44)46(48)50 sleeve sts onto a needle or a length of scrap yarn, cast on 4 new sts in the armhole, work the marked raglan st + 47(49)51(53)55 front piece sts + 2nd marked raglan st, transfer the other 42(44)46(48)50 sleeve sts onto a cable needle or a length of scrap yarn, cast on 4 new sts in the armhole, work the marked raglan st + 47(49)51(53)55 front piece sts + 2nd marked raglan st and knit 2 of the armhole sts. This is now the beginning of a new round. The front and back pieces have a total of 106(110)114(118)122 sts.
Front and back body
Work in stocking stitch in the round until your work measures 18(19)20(21)21 cm from the armhole. Now knit in rib k1, p1 for 3(3)3(4)4 cm. Cast off in rib stitch.
Sleeves
Transfer the 42(44)46(48)50 sleeve sts onto the shorter circular needle (or double pointed needles) and pick up an additional 8 sts along the armhole. The sleeve now has 50(52)54(56)58 sts. Continue to knit in stocking stitch in the round until your work measures 47(48)48(49)49 cm. Now knit in rib k1, p1 for 3(3)3(4)4 cm. Cast off in rib stitch. Repeat to make the other sleeve.
Finishing
Weave in any loose ends. Place your work on a flat surface and gently pull into shape, spray lightly with water and leave to dry or steam carefully.
