Continued collaboration for Novita and fashion designer Rolf Ekroth
Rolf Ekroth's spring collection Lavatanssit will be shown at Copenhagen Fashion Week in August. Novita is proud to be a part of Rolf Ekroth's collection for the second time.
Novita's first collaboration with Rolf Ekroth was presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week in January 2024. The Dear Night collection interpreted the retro spirit of Finnish sports history, combining traditional knitwear patterns with the design world of the collection.
"Rolf's design is bold and surprising, bringing something new and inspiring to knitwear design. The collection was also a big crowd-puller at the biggest trade fair in our industry in Cologne", says Linda Permanto, Marketing Director at Novita.
Rolf Ekroth's latest collection Lavatanssit takes the designer's signature themes to a whole new level of interpretation, inspired not only by Finnish sports history, but also by the magical atmosphere of the short summer in the north with its summer dances and melancholic undertones.
The knitted garments created in co-operation with Novita are a celebration of Finnish craftsmanship and an invitation to everyone to boldly create their own version of high fashion clothing. The technical design of the knitwear is once again the responsibility of Novita's knitwear designer Minna Metsänen, who has created the patterns for the knitwear based on Ekroth's designs.
"Working with Rolf has been very rewarding and instructive for both parties. For both collections, it has been great to see from the beginning how a collection for fashion week is created and how important the knitwear collection made in collaboration with Novita has been as part of the collections. As a fashion designer, Rolf has his own creative and inspiring approach to design and it has been a great honour to be involved in both collections with two highly skilled professionals in their field", says Saara Toikka, Design Manager at Novita.
The Lavatanssit SS25 collection will be presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week on 5 August 2024 and the instructions will be published next spring on novita.com.
