Accessibility Statement
Welcome to the Accessibility statement of Novita. Updated 20.05.2025
ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Novita Oy is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its website novita.com in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
This accessibility statement applies to the website novita.com.
Compliance Status
b) This website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. Non-compliances and exceptions are described below.
Non-accessible Content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
a) Non-compliance with legal requirements
- Some pages have shortcomings in keyboard navigation (e.g., menus or form elements may not be fully usable without a mouse) [WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard].
- The site’s heading structure is mostly logical. However, inconsistencies in heading levels on some pages may hinder content navigation for screen reader users [WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6 Headings].
- Some images lack alternative text [WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content].
- Not all elements meet minimum contrast requirements [WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)].
- The website is responsive and adapts to different screen sizes. However, in some cases, horizontal scrolling may be required on smaller screens [WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow].
- Some PDF files lack an accessible structure and are not intended for screen reader use [WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships].
b) Disproportionate burden
The site includes a large amount of legacy content (e.g., previously published knitting patterns and magazines), and making all of it accessible would impose a significant resource burden. Accessibility improvements for this content are being made gradually.
c) Content not covered by applicable legislation
Third-party embedded content (e.g., social media feeds or advertisements) may not be fully accessible, and Novita has no control over their accessibility.
Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
